The following diagram shows the parts of email. Each
part is described below.
一般的なメールの構成要素について、それぞれ英語で説明しています。 課題やテキストを学習する際の参考にしてください。
1. To:
Here you type in the email address of the person or
company you are writing to (the recipient).
2. From:
Here you write your name and email address.
3. Subject:
Here you briefly state the purpose or content of your
email.
4. Cc:
Cc: means "carbon copy". When you want to
send a copy of your email to another person, type in their address. If
you are sending a copy to several people, separate their addresses with
a comma. The person you originally wrote to (1. To:) will be told you
have sent copies to these people.
5. Bcc:
This is another carbon copy. Simply type in the email
address of the person you are sending the copy to. The person you originally
wrote to (1. To:) will not be told you have sent copies.
6. X-Attachments:
This tells the person you are writing to (1. To:) that
you have 'attached' something to your email. Attachments may be long files,
reports, and diagrams too long to write in your email. You do not have
to type anything here. A message appears automatically when you make an
attachment. Your email programme will tell you how to do this.
7. Greeting or Salutation
Here you put a greeting to the person you are writing
to.
8. The Content or Body
Here you write your message, which must be clear, concise
and well organised.
9. Closing Sentence
It is common to add a final sentence. This often invites
a reply in the immediate future or offers further assistance and information
if required.
10. Closing
This ends your message in a formal but friendly and
professional way.
11. Name
Always finish by giving your name in full.
